Greetings, Colleagues!
A few weeks ago, I shared information about a new resource, Practical Psych. The podcast is a blend of guest interviews and mini-lessons on mental health topics, through the lens of cognitive-behavioral psychology.
In the newest episode, I’m talking about the famous Marshmallow Test from the 1970’s (Mischel, et. al) and how this applies to daily life and mental health. Specifically, I’m covering:
Learning to delay gratification through values oriented living (from an ACT perspective)
Shifting attention
The skill of tolerating discomfort
Using cognitive rehearsal
My aim for the podcast is to provide helpful info for all, not just therapy clients. Mental health and CBT is for everyone!
