The International OCD Foundation reports that the average person with OCD struggles for 15 years before they receive an accurate diagnosis and a front-line treatment. OCD symptoms often do not fall within stereotypes of OCD and therefore can be difficult to recognize. Many areas of the country, especially rural areas like Montana, do not have enough specialized mental health providers to meet the need.
